Issues 1 (Dec. 2004) to 77 (Spring 2025)

Instructions:

Main Entry: Usually a Surname, Association or Activity, with titles such as ‘Golf Club’ or ‘Silver Band’. (A lady’s maiden surname, when known, is shown in brackets.) ‘COALBURN’ is rarely used as a main entry. If a main entry says, for example ‘Church’, it’s safe to assume that this is about Coalburn Church.

Subentry: The next level of detail. Note that items from the Coalburn Chronicles are indicated here (e.g., CC56 means that the entry originates in Chronicle Part 56).

Year: When the event / information described took place. If preceded by ‘c.’ (= ‘circa’ = ‘about’), the year is approximate. Preceded by ‘<’ means before this time and ‘>’ means after this time. Day and month are also indicated, when known.

Newsletter: Provides the Issue Number and the Page where the topic begins.

This index is the work of Billy Clelland (1925-2026), who also indexed Jim Hamilton’s Coalburn Chronicles. Billy was a staunch supporter of the Jim Hamilton Heritage Society of Coalburn, despite having moved to Australia as a teenager. We owe Billy Clelland a debt of gratitude; he will be sadly missed.
